"Sharpen the saw" is another one of the seven habits of highly effective people, as outlined in the book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey.

As it relates to business, this habit is about taking care of yourself to be more effective in all aspects of your personal and business life.


It involves making time to renew and improve yourself in four key areas: 1) Physical, 2) Social/emotional, 3) Mental, and 4) Spiritual. This habit is based on the idea that to be truly effective in business, you must maintain balance in all areas of your life and make time to improve and grow continually. Engaging in activities outside of business that help you maintain balance and renew yourself in these four areas is essential to practicing this habit. This might include exercising regularly, maintaining positive relationships, learning and growing, and engaging in activities that nourish your spirit.
