Having an "A-Day" in Business Every Day

Updated: Dec 30, 2022

What's an A-Day? It's when your team focuses on the "Big Rocks" in your business — those things that will generate profits or save money. There are hundreds of tasks that need to be done in your business. This simple yet powerful business management tool will make a massive difference in your business. As a business consultant, I've noticed many businesses lack well-structured routines. An A-Day is an activity that you do with your team every day. Here's how it works: At the end of the business day, employees enter one to three activities on a Google spreadsheet they want to accomplish the next day. These "Big Rocks" move the business forward if completed. The next morning the team gets together for a 10-minute meeting where each employee tells the team what they intend to do to help the business make more money or save money. This daily sharing of information creates a synergy in the business. When your business has a team that is rowing together rather than working in silos, you can build a profitable business with a happy, productive team.
